Ladies' Day Away was so much fun on Saturday! I got all that I could knitted on the scarf for my grandma and stuck it in my bag only to find later that it had come off the needles! So...after much aggrivation I got it back on and had to reknit some rows that I had to take out to get it all back like it should be. But, I got it finished again and I am all set to buy some more yarn for it tonight.
Speaking of tonight...I am also going shopping to buy supplies for my newest obsession! I can't wait! I am going to start quilting! Me, the person who has NEVER sewn ANYTHING in her life! I have a nice and patient teacher and I even had my first sewing lesson last night, complete with how to wind a bobbin and how to thread the machine and then how to sew a straight line. I think it went fairly well so I hope that the whole quilting thing goes very well too! After that it is on to how to make my own clothes! Hubby is quite excited as well because I am finally using the sewing machine that I won a year ago and has sat on the dining room table until now! My first quilt will be for our bed, so if it is extremely ugly I will just have to look at it and not feel guilty for sending someone else something so ugly!
Friday night was good too, we went over to work on something on my best friend's computer and he made a comment that made me feel alot better too! He had asked us if we wanted something to drink and K and I were quiet and he said..." You guys are family now...." and then went on to say something about not being shy just shouting it out! Again, that strangeness I felt before was gone, things seem to be back to normal there, or I am back to normal whatever the case may be. We went to the high school musical, Grease, and met he and the rest of his family to watch one of his boys play a nerd Saturday night after our crafting day too. He did such a good job! We think he stole the show! Just think a white Steve Urkel!
I guess you may be kind of wondering now, so I should share a bit about my best friend with you...he would actually probably be quite embarrassed to hear me call him such, but honestly it is the truth, I look up to him like a big brother/father figure and he and his wife have been so good to K and I, I just don't know what we would do without them! To start with I will say that there is quite an age difference. He just turned 55 about a month ago. He also happens to be the pastor of our church. We (both couples) have alot in common and all four of us get along well. We call each other our extended family and one of my daycare families is their oldest son and his wife. I love those kids! It does not seem like there is that age difference between us...they have a son who is about 11 or 12 and their youngest grandson is 2 months old. They have been a tremendous help to us, it is because of them that we are in any church now and they have been there for me when I need advice or help. They had me over for supper two nights while K was away to his grandfather's funeral, and helped me out when my car died at church. They have helped me/us through many difficult situations and I can only hope and pray that we can be there to do the same for them.

Another sure fire way to help lighten the mood.....have a HUGE marshmallow fight with the marshmallow shooters! Pictures to come later.
Last night was a good night! We had practice after prayer meeting and I got to talk to my best friend. We didn't get into anything real deep, but our talks were exactly what I had been missing. All the weirdness that I had felt between us before was gone, I am so happy, I have my best friend back! That helped my mood tremendously I have to tell you! Things are starting to fall back into place. There are still a few loose ends so to say, but I am starting to feel more like myself instead of that depressed person I was a few weeks ago. If I could just get over this silly earache that I have had off and on I would be much better too!
Tomorrow is Ladies' Day Away at church and I can't wait! It is a day where we will just sit and do our crafting; knitting, crochet, cross stitch, scrapbooking, quilting, I think there is even going to be some one stroke painting there. We will have a little time for prayer and a meal and a tour of the new kitchen, but the majority of the time will be for crafting. I am also excited about starting a new project soon! A friend of mine (also my piano teacher) is going to teach me to quilt! I think Monday we are going to go and pick out the fabrics I want to use! I am going to use tomorrow to knit, my Grandma emailed and wants me to knit her a scarf with the eyelash yarn for her to give to her secret pal and she needs it by the end of the month! Well, I also have daycare gifts to make and some knitting of my own to do as well as some cross stitching of a wedding announcement to do so I had best use my time wisely!
Anyway....I'm glad to be feeling some better, but I still hope to catch another certain friend for a phone chat soon! You know who you are!

Yes, I know, bad girl, bad girl, blogging silence makes you wonder. I was just trying not to be so negative in a time when that was about all I was feeling. But a good friend told me that this should be my place to vent if I need it so be prepared, I am doing better, but I may still need it. Short term, a friend that I met online began to make comments that I didn't find so friendly. Don't get me wrong it was nothing horribly mean or anything like that, but I just found her comments more laden with sarcasm and such rather than the friendly nature of her writing that once drew me to reading her blog and talking to her. Then K's grandfather died and he was gone for four nights to Ohio for the funeral and to help clean out the apartment. Now call me highly co dependant, but this doubled the time that we had spent apart in our nine years of marriage and I was definately having a tough time with the nights and the whole sleeping thing! I now understand completely how you feel Holli! Thinking to myself I must sleep, I have to get up early for the kiddos this morning, I have to go to sleep NOW or I will not make it through the day! Note this did NOT work, only made things worse! Then after he had returned I felt a distance between me and my best friend. I don't know what's up really yet, or if it is just something that I am imagining with all the emotional stuff I am going through right now anyway. We went to see this couple last night and things seemed to be ok....they even suggested going bowling together, as a family so I am really hoping to chalk that one up to my overly emotional self. If any of you know me well you know that I am VERY HIGHLY and at times OVERLY emotional. I can base my mood for the whole day on thinking that someone is mad at me or I have upset them. I HATE ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY HATE letting people down. And I can fall into a terrible mood if I have found that I have disappointed someone.
Anyway, I appreciate the concern of my good friends out there and I am sorry for making you worry about me. Thanks for being there when I needed you. Even if we haven't caught each other to vent, just knowing you are out there and care about me helps more than you know. Big Hugs!

I found this over at Mix'd Equally, apparently it's Speak Like a Pirate day or something like that......thought it looked like fun so here are my results.

My pirate name is:

Mad Dog Flint

Part crazy, part mangy, all rabid, you're the pirate all the others fear might just snap soon. Like the rock flint, you're hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you're easily chipped, and sparky. Arr!
