Well, life around here has not been boring by any means! May 31 I went up to the clinic to have them take a look at my foot. It had been bothering me a bit while I walked, mostly at the Fitness Center and then the pain would seem to fade through the day, and after I worked at some friends' daughter's wedding and being on my feet for the better part of six hours it was pretty swollen, and swollen into my ankle as well and the pain was pretty much constant when I walked. I figured he would say it's just a muscle that's tight or something pretty much just send me back out on my way again and all would be well. I almost cancelled after making the appointment figuring it would be a waste of time and money......
Well, he looked at me and pushed and prodded a bit and he hit a spot on the heel that I about sent him rolling across the room in his little wheeled chair as I kicked my foot out in response to the pain! He had me stand on it and made a face and told me that he was going to send me to xray because it could be a couple things. I went to xray and had SEVEN xrays done! One of both feet, and then different views of each foot alone. First xrays of my adult life and I get seven! I take them back to the dr. and he looks at them and calls me out to show me and I see very plainly that I have one very nice arch in my left foot and one slightly flattened arch in my right foot. He says that I am breaking down the arch in my right foot and I need to get rid of the flip flops for a while (:( ) and get inserts for my shoes with a good arch support. I have also been wearing one pair of sandals, my Dr. Martens as they have a good arch support, and you just can't go cold turkey and not wear sandals in the summer!!!! It's bad enough that I have to give up the flip flops! Seriously, I am going to have to take a picture of all the flip flops that I own! They have been a staple in my summer wardrobe! I have plain, everyday ones, ones with fleece fabric tied on, eyelash yarn tied on, ones with sparkles, ones with higher soles, green ones, pink ones, purple ones, you name it! Anyway......the dr. also put me on Relafen, which actually I ended up getting the generic, 750 mg for 15 days, and I have to go back on the 14 to see if he wants to change any thing or keep things the same, or who knows what.
The worst part, well besides the pain, is that this medicine really makes me sleepy! I am so ready to be off of it! I am praying that he will not decide to continue it at the next appointment, or I will be asking if there isn't something else we could try. I hate that drugged feeling! Especially with the kids around!
Speaking of the kids...they have been ornery!!!! Yesterday Mr. C would just NOT behave for anything! He was rude and obnoxious, mean to the girls, and sat in time out more than he EVER has here! Today he beaned Miss M with a dinosaur toy and cut her nose. Is the day over yet?? Please???

My gosh, you're right.. pain would almost be secondary to giving up flips!! I would FLIP OUT!!!

I hope your foot feels better and everyone starts behaving.

That reminded me that I (once again) need to replace my Doc sandals!!
