I'm sorry.

This week it seems really hard to get back into the routine of things after my little vacation. Today I feel the best I have felt in a week now. I think some of it comes from the realization that I had while doing some reading last night. My prayer sister ( who also happens to be a good friend of mine) gave me a book last week and I finally sat down to look at it. It is called Daily Blessings for My Secret Pal Devotions to Share with Your Special Friend. The first passage really spoke to me last night....got me to thinking. Like alot of my problems are in my own head worrying for one thing too much about what other people think. Also I am guilty of letting my pride and my ego get in the way all too often. I need to get the focus off me, and on to the Lord and others. I am really seeing how I can just make myself miserable....put myself in a funk and keep myself there, convince myself that I really am all alone and no one likes me. I think some of it has to do with ttotm because it really seems to get bad then, but it doesn't seem to be limited to that. I just need to do as the saying says, "Let go and let God." I really am blessed, and I need to stop and think about that instead of focusing on all the negative.
I am afraid that I hurt a good friend this weekend. I emailed and apologized, but it really hurts me to think that I could have hurt this friend. Another eye opener was another friend who is going through a really rough time right now was more worried about me on Sunday night. Apparently with ttotm I looked pretty wiped and she pulled me aside and gave me a hug and asked me if I had a rough day that day. She was more worried about me and was willing to listen, if needed, to my trials and troubles when she is going through such a rough spot in her own life. Once again I must say I truly am blessed.
It is my earnest prayer that I have not been a stumbling block to anyone....that I have not hurt anyone.....and if I have that those I have caused to stumble or hurt would forgive me.

Wow!

Wow, what a day! I had Little T and L today so that C could spend a bit more time with her Mom, StepDad, Sister and Brother in law, as they came to visit for Thanksgiving and spoke at church on Sunday and they were leaving today. L had two accidents in his pants, Dad said that they think he may be lactose intolerant and he has been having trouble with that lately...and Little T decided to be a stunt man and take a face plant onto the carpet to get off one of the riding toys and ended up with a bump on his head and a bloody lip. I cried right along with him I tell ya! Monster decided she didn't like not being the baby and smacked him a few times for good measure too. Poor guys!
Our little vacation for Thanksgiving was good....don't know how relaxing it was, but I enjoyed it just the same. Wednesday I didn't even get out of bed until about ten or ten thirty. I grabbed a shower and then my Dad stopped over wanting us to look up some things on the internet for him. After he left we grabbed some lunch and headed to Wal Mart. I picked up some more yarn, of course, and K decided that we should get an artificial Christmas tree this year. It will actually pay for itself in a year or two as it has been 25-40 dollars for a tree, depending on how tall you wanted, around here lately, and now we won't have to go out in the cold to pick one out. Another bonus is no needles dropping like crazy and making a mess when you take the tree out, and no worrying about what to do with the tree when you are done with it.
Thursday was good, my Grandparents were up as well as my brother and we all had a lovely day together(somewhat unusual with Grandma around, she is usually quite opinionated and loud, but that day she was pretty good) and then we went to Pastor and C's house and met all the family and played a couple games.
Friday we did a little shopping uptown....ACE Hardware, but what K wanted was all gone so we just left, and then we made a couple trips to Radio Shack. The first time we got K a wireless keyboard and mouse for the church computer, some batteries, and a booklight for me. K ended up going a second time and bought some more batteries and a battery tester, and then after coming home and doing a bit of research on prices we ran back up and got the mp3 player they had on sale. It is a one gig player, and with the $70 dollar rebate it cost me about $50. It is technically a Christmas gift, but I get to use it now. My Grandparents give us $100 and a little gift for Christmas now that we are getting older and they don't know what to buy for us so K and I agreed that half of mine is now gone, spent on that mp3. Can't beat that kind of a deal though, you just have to go and buy it when it's only on sale for a day or two!
Friday night also brought practice...we finally got to see C who was back for the break from Chicago!!! We practiced for about three hours and talked some, but two of our group couldn't make it so we left deciding on practice at ten the next morning. We ended up going back to C's Grandpa's house and talking with them until a little after one!
Saturday we had practice and then I took a nap. We met C at Pizza Hut and then came back to the house to visit a bit more. We got to talk to him a bit more Sunday morning, and then he was off to Chicago again. So sad to see him go. Ok so I was a bit more emotional because it was ttotm, but.....lol I sooo can not believe I just told the whole internet that too lol!
Tonight is knitting and I am really looking forward to it! I just started on scarf number 14 and it is always fun to see what the others have done too. It will be nice just to get out of the house and visit with some adults for a while too!
Tomorrow brings playgroup and another one of my drop ins, Miss S. Hopefully it will be a little quieter!

Gotta love short weeks!

So loving this short week! I worked yesterday and today and then I am done until next week!!!! I wasn't planning on taking the two extra days off, but Monster's Mom told me that she was off Wednesday and Friday last Friday, and then K tells me oh yeah, I'm off those days too! So I talked to M and Mr. C's Mom and she said that she would arrange for Grandma or someone to watch them, coolness!
I'm going to clean the house tonight so that is out of the way and then I plan on sleeping in tomorrow and then maybe making a run for Wal Mart as I am almost out of shampoo and conditioner and quite the list of other things. No Awana so we will pretty much have the day just to relax and do what we like.
Thursday we are going to my Mom and Dad's for dinner. K and Dad work at the same place and they give out a turkey each year...we each have two in our freezers, one from last year and one from this year, so there really should be no shortage of turkey! We were also invited over to Pastor and C's house later in the evening for pie and a visit with C's family that will be visiting and our friend C who is going to college in Chicago.
We haven't decided if we are going to brave the crowds and go shopping on Friday for sure or not yet. I think K is really leaning toward going. We were also invited out to C's Grandpa's house so we could have a visit with C on Friday or Saturday. And since it looks like C will be around for Sunday morning it looks like we will have a practice with the Worship Team and C will play the drums again! I have soooo missed having the drums in our songs!
The kids have made their turkey headbands this morning and are now playing and watching Sesame Street. In a bit we will head over for playgroup, we invited some friends to come so hopefully they will come and we will start to get a bigger group! It's usually just my two or three and Pastor and C's grandsons, nice to have new kids to play with, but every one is hoping to expand the group.
Just in case I don't get back to post, entirely possible with K home!, I hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving Day and I wish you and yours many blessings!

A little long but well worth the read

Kind of a bad (read grumpy) morning here....got this in my email and it brought tears to my eyes...just had to share.

Ten Guidelines From God
>
> Effective immediately,
> please be aware that there are changes YOU need
> to make in YOUR life. These changes need to be
> completed in order that I may fulfill My promises
> to you to grant you peace, joy and happiness in
> this life. I apologize for any inconvenience,
> but after all that I am doing, this seems very
> little to ask of you. Please, follow these 10 guidelines
>
> 1. QUIT WORRYING:
> Life has dealt you a blow and all you do is sit
> and worry. Have you forgotten that I am here
> to take all your burdens and carry them for you?
> Or do you just enjoy fretting over every little
> thing that comes your way?
>
> 2. PUT IT ON THE LIST:
> Something needs done or taken care of. Put it
> on the list. No, not YOUR list. Put it on MY
> to-do-list. Let ME be the one to take care
> of the problem. I can't help you until you turn
> it over to Me. And although My to-do-list
> is long, I am after all... God. I can take care
> of anything you put into My hands. In fact,
> if the truth were ever really known, I take
> care of a lot of things for you that you never
> even realize.
>
> 3. TRUST ME:
> Once you've given your burdens to Me,
> quit trying to take them back. Trust in
> Me. Have the faith that I will take care of
> all your needs, your problems and your trials.
> Problems with the kids? Put them on My list.
> Problem with finances? Put it on My list.
> Problems with your emotional roller coaster?
> For My sake, put it on My list. I want to
> help you. All you have to do is ask.
>
> 4. LEAVE IT ALONE:
> Don't wake up one morning and say,
> "Well, I'm feeling much stronger now, I think
> I can handle it from here." Why do you think
> you are feeling stronger now? It's simple.
> You gave Me your burdens and I'm taking
> care of them. I also renew your strength
> and cover you in my peace. Don't you
> know that if I give you these problems back,
> you will be right back where you started?
> Leave them with Me and forget about
> them. Just let Me do my job.
>
> 5. TALK TO ME:
> I want you to forget a lot of things.
> Forget what was making you crazy
> Forget the worry and the fretting because
> you know I'm in control. But there's one
> thing I pray you never forget. Please, don't
> forget to talk to Me - OFTEN! I love YOU!
> I want to hear your voice. I want you to
> include Me in on the things going on in your life.
> I want to hear you talk about your friends
> and family. Prayer is simply you having
> a conversation with Me. I want to be your
> dearest friend.
>
> 6. HAVE FAITH:
> I see a lot of things from up here that you
> can't see from where you are. Have faith in
> Me that I know what I'm doing. Trust Me;
> you wouldn't want the view from My eyes.
> I will continue to care for you, watch over you,
> and meet your needs. You only have to trust Me.
> Although I have a much bigger task than you,
> it seems as if you have so much trouble just
> doing your simple part. How hard can trust be?
>
> 7. SHARE:
> You were taught to share when you were
> only two years old. When did you forget?
> That rule still applies. Share with those who are
> less fortunate than you. Share your joy with
> those who need encouragement. Share your
> laughter with those who haven't heard any in
> such a long time. Share your tears with those
> who have forgotten how to cry. Share your faith
> with those who have none.
>
>
>
> 8. BE PATIENT:
> I managed to fix it so in just one lifetime
> you could have so many diverse experiences.
> You grow from a child to an adult, have children,
> change jobs many times, learn many trades,
> travel to so many places, meet thousands
> of people, and experience so much. How can
> you be so impatient then when it takes Me
> a little longer than you expect to handle
> something on My to-do-list? Trust in My
> timing, for My timing is perfect. Just
> because I created the entire universe in
> only six days, everyone thinks I should
> always rush, rush, rush.
>
> 9. BE KIND:
> Be kind to others, for I love them just
> as much as I love you. They may not dress
> like you, or talk like you, or live the same way
> you do, but I still love you all. Please try
> to get along, for My sake. I created each
> of you different in some way. It would be
> too boring if you were all identical.
> Please, know I love each of your differences.
>
> 10. LOVE YOURSELF:
> As much as I love you, how can you not
> love yourself? You were created by me for
> one reason only -- to be loved, and to love
> in return. I am a God of Love. Love Me.
> Love your neighbors. But also love yourself.
> It makes My heart ache when I see you
> so angry with yourself when things go
> wrong. You are very precious to me.
> Don't ever forget......
>
> Note: I rec'd this from a friend and I have
> no idea who wrote it, but I was so touched

Winter has arrived

It's an icky sort of day today. Dark and rainy now, we are supposed to get some snow this afternoon into tonight. We have a winter weather advisory now...it was a winter storm watch but they have changed it. Good thing that my plans for the night are to curl up with a blanket and knit away. Unfortunately that doesn't help my Mom and K as they have to deliver papers this afternoon.
I finished scarf number nine and got a start on number ten last night. I also finally figured out how to cast on the better way to give you a more finished edge. Our knitting group was alot of fun last night. We spent about as much time giggling as we did teaching and learning.
I was planning on going to see one of my former Awana girls play basketball this afternoon but then I got a call that two of my after schoolers are planning on coming this afternoon too. They are family friends (my parents live right next door to them) and I have been babysitting for their oldest(now a sophomore in high school) since she was six months old. Depending on how the girls do after M and C leave I may take them to the game with me, but I don't know if they would really sit and watch..... we'll see.
Tomorrow is Awana fun fair. We took all the chairs out of the new auditorium and each leader family will have a little booth or game set up. We have a bucket toss. K was busy with construction last night. I wasn't so sure about his plan as he was describing it to me, but I think it turned out pretty cute. He still has some convincing to do as to how he wants to decorate it, but I'm srue it will be fine.

A bit better.......

Ok so thanks to a little note from a friend, thank you very much, you know who you are.....and getting a phone call saying that my little snowblower was finished in the shop and ready to be picked up has helped to cheer me up a bit....no I am not that odd that I am excited to get my snowblower back, but the shop that has the snowblower is run by an old friend of K's family and it was very nice to get to talk to her for a few minutes too.

And still bummed

I'm still sorta bummed today...can't pinpoint why exactly just one of those days I guess. I should be fairly happy even, I finished the second Awana scarf and started on the third! Monster has been fairly good, no M and Mr C today, they are with Grandma and Grandpa. And Monster will be gone at an early time today as she and Mommy have appointments for haircuts.
I don't know if I will be singing yet or not, guess I will find out tonight. I will be going anyway and just sit and knit if nothing else. I feel like I really haven't gotten much knitting done at all this week so all I want to do is just sit and knit and knit and knit........
Looks like I could be adding another scarf to my list to make yet too lol I just can't get enough.
Really just need to get out of this funk!

A little bummed

Awana went well last night. The kids just barely made their goal of 80 kids to earn shakes next week at the fun fair. Speaking of which we really need to get it in gear and build this game we are supposed to have! We have all the supplies we just need to actually build it. Maybe this will be the project that K gets when C and I run to the bulk food store on Saturday! He is the construction half of this partership anyway lol! Only bad part to the night was that I found out that one of my clubbers wasn't there because yesterday she fell off a horse and crushed her wrist!!!!! Going to look for a florist in her town so I can send some balloons or something I think. She is such a sweet girl, I feel so bad for her.
In other news, the cyst on Monster's hand is just something to keep an eye on. Dr said that he could do surgery, but there is a high recurrance factor and it could be back with in a year, so why put her through that. But if it hurts her or gets bigger it will need to be looked at again.
Pastor talked to K last night about giving the three of us who usually sing for Worship Band a break and let some new blood in. Good idea I can see, but NOOOOOOOOO I don't want a break, do I have to take one?!?! Pastor did ask me about how I would feel taking a break last night and I did my little sniff, If I have to....he laughed and said he may still use me, he's not sure yet. I said well, K has to be there so I will probably just come and hang out while practice is going on if nothing else and he said of course! I just hate thinking of not singing. It is something that I LOVE to do and feel as if I am being punished by having it taken away. Stupid, I know, but you know how it is when something you love is taken away like that........

On again off again kind of day.....

I got a call last night that Pastor and C's grandsons aren't coming today. They went to the wake for the funeral last night and so they are not going to go to the funeral. Can't say I blame them, it is about an hour to an hour and a half away, and I don't know how well they know the family. And Pastor is doing our council time for Awana tonight and if he needs to do any work on his message for that.....I'm guessing it would be around four or four thirty or so by the time they got back....and then to get the boys homework possibly, supper, and then off to Awana by 6:45, would make for one long day! I will miss having the boys though!
Monster has an appointment with a specialist today to look at what they think is a cyst on her hand. It is a pretty big bump right under her pointer finger on her left hand. Sometimes it seems to hurt her sometimes it doesn't, but the dr she saw previously wanted her to have it double checked. I know we are all glad about that too, it doesn't seem to be going down any this way we will hopefully have an answer as to what it is for sure and if anything will need to be done about it. We don't know if she will be coming back after the appointment or not, all depends on what they end up doing.
M and Mr. C are going to be picked up by their grandparents today. I could have an early day! No school for Mr. C on Friday either, we picked up some fun things to do and will do a craft or two as well. Hopefully I can keep him busy!
Last night I finally got caught up on the laundry(not as easy to get everything done when K takes a day and a half off! He kind of has his own agenda and we all just go along with him when he's home. Doesn't happen very often so what's a little variance from the norm, right?!) and I got my Sunday School done. I figured we have Awana tonight, prayer meeting tomorrow, possibly a practice Friday or Saturday, and Saturday I need to run to Wal Mart and get my hair cut around ten as well as do a little shopping, and then C and I may run to another neighboring town to a bulk food store. Add cleaning the house to my list and it makes for a pretty full weekend. And also if K decides he wants to do something on Friday....this way I can hopefully get everything done! This way maybe I can get some prime knitting time in too! Seeing as I didn't really get much done last night!
Well, girls are begging to get their nails painted so I had better get going before they revolt!

Pretty quiet around here.....

Knitting went well last night, I did learn a couple things even though I didn't think I would. It was nice to get out and spend some time with the "girls". And one of the girls brought her two younger daughters with her, the older one wanted to learn how to knit and the younger wanted to come along and watch. It was alot of fun!
I took the girls to playgroup again today. It was just the girls and Pastor's grandsons again. There was a different lady running it but it went really well. M was playing shy at first but she quickly warmed up and all four kids had lots of fun running in circles around the two rooms!
I am almost finished with the first Awana scarf. I am hoping that I can finish it this afternoon before I have to go and get Mr. C so I can start the second one to work on in the car while we are waiting for him. I am giving myself a panic attack about getting these done before store on the 7th.
Not alot going on around here tonight. I am going to call and see if the girl who cuts my hair is working tonight and try to get down there and get an appointment and if not I will be knitting away. I go to Smart Styles in Wal Mart to get my hair cut and apparently they are not taking appointments anymore, just walk ins and you sign up in a first come first serve basis. I had made an appointment before but apparently things have changed. Sooooo now I call and see if she is working and if she is hope and pray that Monster leaves at a decent hour, practically boot her and her Mom out the door and make a mad dash for the half hour drive to get there and get my hair cut.....sounds like fun doesn't it?!?

~~Updated~~I finished the first Awana scarf and I just got a start on the second!!!! Also called to see if I can get my hair cut......have to wait until Saturday!

Icky Move!

K took a full day off work today. He said things are slowing down and he has the time to use up so why not today. He took us uptown to do a little shopping at the Dollar Store, helped with lunch, is now mowing the lawn, and has to fix the light switch issue in the upstairs hallway. These little projects have been waiting for him but between work and the general business after work they just haven't gotten done. I am really looking forward to not having to walk upstairs in the dark!
We got his older brother and family moved on Saturday. These poor people! His middle brother's fiance and I were scrubbing the cupboards and drawers in the kitchen, the bathroom, and even the window sills. The people who moved out left the house a MESS! There were lots of spiders (sorry Holli!), a can of root beer, mold, and something that was dripped down the front of almost every lower drawer to be found in the kitchen. The bathroom was icky also, someone had gone potty and apparently not flushed the sink was coated in make up residue in the drawers, and hairspray or something all over the countertop. Someone had apparently recently taken a shower too, lots of hair and residue left in there. When they first walked into the house to start moving things they noticed that she had taken the shower head too. They called the realtor and said ummmm, No, the showerhead was part of the deal, one appeared, but it was a brand new one, not the same one that had been there before. SIL laughed and said, well this one is probably cleaner than that would have been anyway! There was about one light bulb in each light fixture in each room that worked too, the rest were burnt out!
We woke up late and got on the way to their place a little later than we had planned, but we still had a little bit of time before they got to the new house with the truck so we stopped at Wal Mart for my allergy medicine and Michael's to see if they had any different colors of the eyelash yarn or any new styles we thought I should try. Of course we ended up coming home with some, but when it was a little more than a dollar cheaper per skein how could I resist? Many that I have the yarn for are going to be given away anyway. They are alot of fun to make too!
Tonight is knitting group. We haven't met for two weeks so I am looking forward to it. I don't know if there will be much more for me to do other than knit away on my scarf, but it will be nice to get together with the girls and talk, and I may learn something from what the other girls are doing too, you never know!

Finally Friday!

To add to all the excitement of the week, K took a half day of vacation today. Of course his half day is different than my half day. His half day means that he is off at 9 am! M enjoyed him coming home early and especially loved the fact that he took us up to the Dollar Store. I have decided to try something a little different with the kids and if they are really good they get a smiley face up on the dry erase board and if they are really naughty they get a frowny face on the dry erase board. If they get three frowny faces they get a strike which is something taken away, a movie etc. This won't be for those little misbehaving things, but the kids have TOTALLY forgotten their polite words and become really demanding and when their parents come or drop them off they tend to get really wild and not listen at all. So we had to go and get the dry erase board to chart this one and during this trip the girls got their first smiley face as we had to wait in line for a LONG time (seriously we were in line three isles back in the beginning!) and the girls were VERY patient and played with each other's hair, counted the girls and boys on one of the displays, talked to me, and sang a bit while we waited in line. I was very impressed!
K is off playing golf with Pastor now. They headed out to a course about a half an hour to 45 minutes away. K says he will be back around dark(about 4:30-5 with the time change now! UGH! But that's a whole other subject!). I'm glad that he is going, he needs to spend some time with some guys. We spend alot of time together but I also have my knitting group and the girls from Worship Team. Unfortunately K spends his time in Worship Team practice back in his little soundbooth working on the graphics for the backgrounds for the songs and getting the verses and choruses and just songs in general in order so he doesn't even get to hang around with the guys from the Worship Team. Pastor does try to spend time with him, actually we have been invited over for a fire out in the backyard again after practice with a few other families. But I am just happy to see him go out and play golf and do things with the guys from church, lol I am always afraid that I am boring him to death with my talk of kids, tantrums, yarn, and knitting lol!
Now if I could just get out of driving the hour and a half to help K's brother move this weekend it would be a great weekend!!!

Call me crazy

So we went to playgroup this morning.....and then I realize today is the monthly three hour early out for teacher inservice! Grab waffles and pears for lunch, go get Mr. C, come back for naptime and now the two oldest are watching Bob the Builder while Monster sleeps......think I am going to bed early tonight!!!

My husband is an enabler lol

Yep, last night went to Wal Mart to buy some more yarn for the scarves for Awana and I ended up buying even more than I had planned on! I saw the Cardinal color (pictured below) and just had to buy it for a friend of ours. Their school colors are black and red and we thought that this would be just perfect for a scarf for her. It is a bit different, so I hope that it will turn out well. I also bought another couple skeins of the Capri color to make a scarf for C (Pastor's wife). She has really enjoyed the scarves I have made so far and been a great encouragement to me, so I wanted to make her one as a little thank you. K also picked out some yarn that he really liked. It is SUPER soft, very pretty, I just love it. We thought it was in the mid range for price but got up to the checkout and found out that it was the most expensive! He decided that we have both been working overtime so why not splurge once in a while. We just won't make a habit of it!
I am debating taking the girls to story hour this morning. I think they would enjoy it, but this means we will have had something Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, and Thursday Little C comes, and Friday K took off work to burn up some vacation time and spend with us. It could just be one of those weeks! I think Tuesday playgroup will be something we continue and would love to see them get interested in Story Hour, it's just Monster I am worried about. Her love of tearing pages out of books and chewing board books up make me just a tad nervous to think of her in a building full of said fun things to destroy!
This one hubby picked out, it is SUPER soft. We found out that this was an expensive yarn when we got to the check out, but hubby liked it enough he said he would buy it anyway, just not make a habit of it lol! Posted by Picasa
black and red are the school colors of some friends of ours from a neighboring town, and when I saw this I just KNEW I had to make a scarf out of it for her. This one is a bit different, but very pretty. It is called Cardinal Posted by Picasa

Busy busy busy!

Wow, it has been a busy week already and it's only Tuesday!!! Yesterday I took the girls up to the Halloween party at the daycare where Monster's Mommy works. We went trick or treating at the hospital and they had a pinata and the kids also bobbed for apples. It was pretty cute. The girls did pretty well, despite the fact that Monster had no intentions in sharing her Mommy and let us know about it as Mommy tried to help the other kids!
We had a party last night at church. During the time that we were playing games, which included me chasing a group of little ones around to make sure that they weren't trampled by the big kids, go figure lol!, I got to talk to Pastor's daughter in law and she invited me to bring the girls to the play group that she has been taking the boys to. I thought it sounded like a good idea, especially with winter coming and we won't be able to spent hours at the park like we have gotten into the habit of doing until this cold weather and runny noses has decended upon us! The girls are in a good mood so far this morning, so I think we will check it out today. It is Tuesday mornings for an hour. It sounds like it is a fairly small group, nice so M won't just get lost in the crowd, which she seems to do with a larger amount of kids around.
I am almost finished with the scarves that are going to be Christmas gifts. I am working on K's middle bil's fiance's scarf and then I have his little sisters, which I may just give to her at Christmas since everyone else is getting theirs then. I am also thinking about making one for Pastor's wife. She has been admiring them as I do them ( I have done some work on them at their place while watching movies so she has really seen some of their progression), but I just need to decide what color. One of the other ladies that is learning to knit has also talked me into making a few for the Awana store. She thought that they would go pretty well and our store keeper agreed, and knowing that this is the only place some of these kids really get to go Christmas shopping for their parents I decided to do some for them. Mine can really be done at anytime, so why not. Lol K just shakes his head!
Well, time for me to start getting the girls to clean up and get ready to go check out the play group. I will post some pictures of the daycare Halloween party soon.
