Whew! We survived Christmas! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and survived all of the family fun, even if all of it wasn't so much "fun"!
My inlaws came for their annual visit. It was a bit shorter than normal since my sister in law was having a hard time getting time off of work, at Subway of all places! Now, I don't know if you all know or not, but my Mil and I don't always see eye to eye. We look at things from two very different vantage points, she is a perfectionist and things must be done at that moment......me, oh, it will get done...sooner or later, and if it's not perfect.....so what, let's just have fun doing it. Can ya see why we would have a problem there. Oh yeah, and have I mentioned how I take things to heart way to easily, some of her comments can really get to me at times. After almost ten years of marriage to her son I am learning to let some of those things slide a little more, she can still get under my skin, but I am learning to walk away and remember the blessings that I do have. In the infamous words of a good friend of mine, you don't have to be a doormat. You don't know how many times I was chanting that in my mind.
Anyway, I was greatly surprised this Christmas with some wonderful gifts and sweet, sweet gestures by friends. We were caroled to, received many hugs, had our first giving of our gifts to each other by ourselves, and had some wonderful visits with some great friends.
I have one gift that I was truly touched by this year, and I will treasure it always. I put it in a special place where I can see it every day and is hopefully safe and sheltered from the kids and flying toys. I was given an adorable Precious Moments figurine. K is groaning now thinking about this "starting something" but agrees that it was a very kind and thoughtful gift and is enjoying his gift as well! He was given a golf club, don't ask me specifics, I have been out to hit some balls all of one time, I'm sure not the last I will be going as I was also given my own set of clubs, but I am still learning.
I will post lots of pictures soon. I have a few that I can't wait to get printed to frame and put in my album. I will also have to take a couple pictures of some gifts to share with you all, there are a few that really touched me and almost brought me to tears. There were some wonderful memories to go right along with them, and I will write more about them soon as well. I fully realize this year just how blessed I truly am and I am very thankful for my blessings!

You don't see eye to eye with your MIL? I can't believe that. I just don't understand this not getting along with the MIL thing. Good grief.

:)

As soon as my house is clear, everyone isn't home sick, blah blah blah - I'll give you a call. HUGS!!!

I hope you do share the pictures. Special pictures to me truly are my favorite things to treasure.

You are blessed. And I'm blessed to have (cyber) met you.
