I know I know I haven't been posting again....real life just seemed to take over there for a bit. I did manage to finish knitting one scarf and I started a new project, a gift for Jen, lol which when I first started to type this I gave away, but caught myself before I hit publish lol! When that project is finished I am going to knit a gift for another friend. She loves to decorate with patriotic things and I saw some Sugar 'n Cream yarn in Early American Ombre and I knew that I had to do something for her with it! I looked on the internet and found a pattern for a dish cloth with a star pattern. It's all knitting and purling and I really like that they give you the option of the directions by sets of rows like Rows 1-5 K1P1 across, ending with K1 or they give you the pattern row by row. I think I am going to use the row by row option so I can cross each row off as I go along because I know how often I will be interrupted and think now where was I??!!
We had a bit of a sleep over with some of the daycare kids the other night. I got a call from Miss A, Slow Mo, and Little C's Mom asking if I could watch the kids about a quarter after 7 Monday night because they were taking their older sister to the hospital an hour away. She had a head ache that she just couldn't get rid of and after being to the local ER and not getting alot of answers, just meds that made her sleepy but didn't get rid of the pain, they decided to take her to a bigger hospital to rule some more serious problems out. The drs up there called it an a-typical migrane and gave her fluids, three different meds, and sent her home after she was feeling better. They finally got home around 1:30 Tuesday morning. I was going to just keep the kids until they woke up in the morning for school, but Little C woke up after having an accident and I didn't have any clothes to change him into, so Dad just came and picked them all up. I was exhausted! It took a while for the kids to get to sleep, they were so excited to be having a sleepover!! I had them all out on the sofa bed and they watched a movie turned on the naptime music once that was over and they finally all did sleep. I tried to lay at the foot of the bed and sleep some, but the boys kept kicking me in the back! K slept for as long as he could in the recliner, but finally gave up and went to bed around 12:15 (poor guy has to get up at 4:30 for work and the recliner isn't the most comfortable to sleep in...I really appreciated him sticking it out for as long as he could!) and after that there was definately no sleeping for me.
I didn't have any kids yesterday so I slept in a bit, but refused to take a nap so that I would be able to sleep last night. I lasted until 10pm and then I couldn't take it anymore! My head hit the pillow and I was out and didn't move until 6:15 this morning!
I've also been helping a friend get ready to open her new quilt shop. We had one in town, but they moved to a neighboring town and there are many who miss it, so she decided to rent a space on main street and open her own! I think it is a perfect fit for her, she does alot of quilting, and she used to be Amish, giving her shop a unique little fit. I have been entering her fabrics into the compter for her and picking out some that I want to use at the same time!! I am close to finishing my first quilt and can't wait to get started on more with some of the fabrics she has in the shop!
Well, this is getting terribly long so I guess I'll quit for now.....hope you all are having a great day! Big hugs!

Summer storms!
I really meant to post the pictures of Teddy before and after his haircut Friday, but we had a really big storm and ended up losing power for most of the day! About noon things started clouding up and the wind picked up. It started getting darker and darker and it started pouring and hailing and the sky was so black! We lost power and I looked out the front door and we had two big limbs from the tree out in the front yard in the middle of the road. It took me seven calls to get through to the police department to let them know that there were branches blocking the road ( I live on the north end of our main street and only a block or so from our hospital). After the branches fell the street started to flood (we always have some water that collects on our road, but this was much more!) the neighbor across the street started to walk across and the water was up to her knees! The neighbors worked and worked at clearing the storm drains and finally they were cleared enough to let water through, and the rain stopped and the water receded. I had water almost up to my front door and a river running through the back yard that took the kids small playhouse about ten feet!
Tater had fallen asleep just before it all started, and thankfully he slept through it all. The branches falling did wake up T and L doesn't nap so I had two boys to keep entertained with no power. We dug out the Playdough and that kept them pretty busy. They did also like looking out at the branches and watching the city workers come and push them up in the yard with a front end loader after things calmed down.
There were lots of branches down around town. Big ones at the hospital, it actually hit the hospital from what we could see, but it hit a brick area so it didn't look like there was much damage. A house a block behind us had a large branch land on the roof and did some damage. A lady was out in the park and had a branch land on her and it broke her leg. A friend of ours from church was driving home to be with his kids since his wife wasn't home and a branch landed on his car. He was ok, but it did do some damage to the car.
Tater was funny when his Mom came to pick him up, he had no idea what had gone on outside and when he saw the branches in our yard he looked at me and said "Holy cow!!!"
We finally got power back around 4 and it stayed on for a half an hour and it went off again. We left for church just before 5 (we had a wedding on Saturday and the rehearsal was Friday!!) but the power was back on when we got home. The church still had power, although it did have a large pine tree fall into the neighbor's bean field!
I didn't get a whole lot of pictures, but I did get a few. I will post what I have for you soon, and the pictures of Teddy and his haircut, I promise!!

Never a dull moment! Kids are fun!
I am feeling bad because I have not been here to blog as much as I would like, but real life has just taken over. Tater is needing a bit more of my time and I'm not complaining, he is so much fun and has gotten quite the little personality! Yesterday the little character jumped off our front porch into one of the bushes! It's not a very big jump or anything but it was funny, I could just see his little gears turning. I was standing in the yard with the other kids and K was sitting on the porch steps and I had just looked over and said "Tater don't even think about it! You come over here and come down the steps" and the next thing I know boing off he jumps into the middle of the bush, looks at K and I and starts to whine a bit! Stinker! I told him I didn't feel too bad for him, I told him not to do it! He wasn't hurt or anything, but he was stuck in the middle of the bush and couldn't get out! Yeah, that's pretty much a normal day around here lately! Tater and his older brother T keep me wondering! I love it!

Winter fun!
We ended up pretty much snowed in this weekend. Saturday it snowed and snowed hard! I ended up going back to Wal Mart with C and we spent most of the day there. We were picking up some stocking stuffers and getting some groceries for Christmas dinner and for our big cookie baking extravaganza! Of course we stopped at Mc Donalds for breakfast and made one extra stop for C to do a little shopping for a couple new sweaters for work.
We got all of our grocery/baking supplies at Wal Mart and headed home. The snowplows hadn't been out much and it was still snowing. We looked out on the fields on the way home and we just saw white. C and I made some of her spaghetti sauce and meatballs and then PM gave me a ride home. While I was gone, K had pulled the dishwasher, stove, and refrigerator away from the wall and cleaned underneath and behind them. We had a problem with mice for a while and K found one dead under the refrigerator...I am sooo glad that I wasn't here for that! PM stopped over later and the decision was made to cancel church, it was supposed to be very windy and the concern was blowing snow and the sub zero temperatures combined with wind chill would make for dangerous travel. We started the calling tree and let everyone know that there would be no church on Sunday and we would have a Christmas Eve service instead.
Sunday we slept in and just hung around the house until C called and we headed over to PM and C's house to start our cookie baking. We made rosettes, peanut butter cookies with Hershey's kisses on top, Andes Mint cookies, buckeye balls, and chocolate covered pretzels. We also decided to do some more baking Christmas Eve day.
I had such a great time baking!
Yesterday was another cold day and school was cancelled and K is on vacation for two weeks now. I only had L, T, and Tater and the boys had a blast with K! They even pulled out the little electronic drumset and had a lovely concert for me! K took off to go shopping at naptime, he told me that he hadn't gotten me anything yet and thought he better be a good hubby and go shopping! I also had a couple things for him to pick up and he got a hair cut, so it was a very productive afternoon for him! The boys left early and we just hung out and put some laundry away for the rest of the evening.
Today I only have Miss A and she has had a fun filled morning chasing her "Nee Nee" around the snow paths this morning. (When she first started daycare here Miss A was just beginning to talk and she couldn't say K's name, after she started calling him "Nee Nee" and us not understanding where it came from we finally figured it out....when I needed K I called for him..."Hey Honey!" Miss A adores K and we always joked that she was his little girlfriend and I should feel threatened, and she was proving it by calling him her Honey! and she still calls him that to this day. In fact LC, I, and 12 year old CG call him Nee Nee!!)
Now A is napping and K is helping to get things set up for the Community Christmas Dinner that will be held Christmas Day. We have at least one basketball game, maybe two depending if BC is playing up tonight, and we need to go over the PowerPoint that was for Sunday morning's service that will now be used for tomorrow night's service.
Tomorrow is baking and church followed by Christmas with my parents and then Christmas with K and I. Christmas Day brings helping with the Community Christmas Dinner and games and snacks with PM, C, and family.
I really hope that K likes his gift! PM buys and resells golf clubs and he helped me put together a new set for K since he is getting better and enjoying golf more. PM is even going to deliver them for me and get it all set up while K and I are at my parents' house for Christmas! Hopefully he will like them and I can get a good picture of his reaction!
I do have some good pictures of our snow and all the "fun" we are having in it and I will try to get them posted soon.
If I don't get them posted until after Christmas I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! and may the Lord bless you in this holiday season and in the New Year to come!

More basketball "fun"
Well, it was an ugly game tonight but we won. At one point we had ten fouls and the other team had three. One of our guys was even called for pushing when he was trying to take a shot! Interesting refs.....l
Tomorrow is M's tournament, I am planning to go if PM and C remember to pick me up. K has to work at least half the day. If not I will get my Sunday School done and probably knit some more on the "tinsel" scarf. I hope that they remember to pick me up though, K has been working Saturdays for the last month or so and it gets really old sitting here by myself. I can't really go anywhere either, he takes the car.
It was a slow day work wise. Miss A's Mom is home sick with pneumonia, T and his Mom have strep, and L was sent home sick from school with the stomach flu. They sent Tater to me so T and Mom could rest. Good thing too, he thought it was alot of fun to beat me up today. He was a good boy, just very active and after realizing that he was the center of my attention today he ate it all up!

Here I am again!

Today has been a pretty quiet day. I finally pulled out the jump drive that we got during our Black Friday shopping and started putting all the pictures and things that I wanted to save from one of my MSN groups since they have decided to close their groups in February. I started an MSN group for storage when I first started doing things with Paint Shop Pro, back before I knew about jump drives.
Now that I have that done I will be back to work on the project with the hymnal indexes. It is a big project, but I am enjoying it.
Tonight we are going to watch BC play basketball and then M has a concert after that. That is if Miss A leaves on time. Last night her parents were a half hour late to get her and her brother. It wasn't a big deal, but just kind of a pain. I hate being in a rush!

Kids and basketball craziness!
Ohhhh today has been a day! First I get a text message at 6a.m. telling me that the boys Mom was called into work so I will have them today. No problem, once I figured out that it was a text and not a phone call haha! I was just waking up and not really "with it" at that point.
I get my shower and head downstairs when I get a call saying that Miss A's Mom is home sick so she will be keeping Miss A home with her. Again, no problem makes the day a bit easier, now I won't have two two/three year olds fighting over toys as has been the norm lately. I got a phone call later saying that Mom will be off work tomorrow too...now THAT makes me happy, that means I get the day off tomorrow!! Gotta love that!
Tater starts getting a bit cranky before lunch, I try to get an early lunch in and get them down for naps figuring he's tired and will fall asleep easily and take a nice long nap....WRONG! Not only is he up twice crying and very cranky when he wakes up, but T wakes up twice, once for me to help him to the bathroom to go potty(he was so tired he could barely hold himself up to walk!) and once for I'm not sure why. But they both also woke up early from nap and are a tad on the emotional side.
My brain is just spinning with everything that is going on today! It's not been a bad day, just one of those where the house seems more like Grand Central Station!
We didn't make it to BC's game last night, but we are going to watch J play tonight, Awana tomorrow, BC's game or M's concert Thursday and maybe J play again on Friday, and M has a tournament on Saturday. Wee, basketball season is in full swing!
Edited: Never mind...I don't get the day off tomorrow after all. Miss A's Mom called and asked if she could bring Miss A and I tomorrow. Apparently Miss A didn't let Mommy rest very much at all today. No big deal, the two of them will play well together and I can still get a few things done around the house.
